Bandolero!

Bandolero!

BANDOLERO! is a classic, star-studded western with action, romance and drama, replete with a sweeping score by Jerry Goldsmith. In the town of Val Verde, Texas, where Sheriff Johnson (George Kennedy) keeps the peace, the ruthless outlaw Dee Bishop and his gang hold up a bank, killing the husband of Maria (Raquel Welch) in the process. Dee’s wily ways can’t help him and he is captured by Johnson and sentenced to hang. The executioner comes to town, but in reality, it’s Dee’s older brother, Mace (James Stewart). Mace helps Dee escape and in the process, takes Maria as a hostage. Sheriff Johnson, who is in love with Maria, assembles a posse and heads out, hot on the heels of Mace and his gang, who are on their way to Mexico. Along the way, the two brothers clash as Dee resents Mace’s wanting him to end his errant ways. Mace puts up with Maria’s defiant protestations, but as they cross into lawless bandolero country in Mexico, Maria has fallen in love with him. Unfortunately, Johnson and his men catch up to Mace and Dee, but before their inevitable showdown, the men are attacked by ruthless bandoleros. Johnson and the Bishop brothers join forces to fight them off and a bloody battle ensues from where there can only be one victor.
