Die! Die! My Darling!

Die! Die! My Darling!

While visiting the British village of Abervy, American Pat Carroll (Stefanie Powers) calls on Mrs. Trefoile (Tallulah Bankhead), a retired actress and the mother of her former sweetheart, Stephen, who died in a car crash. An elderly fanatic who's been pushed over the edge into insanity, Mrs. Trefoile imprisons Pat, intending to "cleanse" her so that she'll be fit to marry Stephen when they meet in heaven. Back in London, Pat's fiancée, Alan, is worried by her failure to return home and hires a car for the drive to Abervy. After Mrs. Trefoile tells him Pat has left, he arrives at a local inn seeking information and sees the barmaid wearing a jeweled pin he had given his fiancée. Told that she got the pin from a servant working for Mrs. Trefoile, the alarmed Alan races back to the house. And after breaking down the cellar door just in time to rescue Pat from being murdered, he can only watch in horror as the crazed Mrs. Trefoile plunges the knife into her own heart.
